Happy Friday!  I hope you can put college admission talk aside for the weekend and enjoy a little time with friends and family.

During one of my high school visits today, I saw a girl who looked like the stress of senior year was hitting her hard.  I figured a few of you might be in the same boat right about now and you might need a little CavDog intervention.  Hang in there, everyone.

Hey everyone! Dean J has been sick, but thought you all needed a zen moment, so I'm taking over the blog to show you this awesome stick that I found a few weeks ago when we went hiking. Isn't it great?

A few words about blog interaction

This is obviously an emotional and stressful time for all of you. While I understand that it's sometimes cathartic to blow off steam on message boards and blogs, I hope we can keep the discussion here polite and thoughtful.


I have few suggestions for those who want to discuss topics on the blog. It's fine to address each other (in fact, when students answer each others' questions, it's very helpful!), but I hope that you'll keep a few things in mind.

1. Be welcoming of newer readers.

2. Don't gang up on other readers.

3. Don't horde information.

4. Be patient when waiting for answers to questions.

5. Know when to take a break from all the admission talk.

This was really another "zen moment" is disguise. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. :)

The 900 1200(!) hits this blog got yesterday and the tension apparent among applicants in the comments and on a particular message board some applicants frequent are making CavBear a little concerned. He thought a nice cup of tea might help you relax.
