I have an official update for the waiting list from Greg Roberts, the Associate VP of Enrollment and Undergraduate Admission. This update will go out by email momentarily.
Thank you for your continued interest in the University of Virginia. We are grateful that you chose to remain on the waiting list – we know that waiting is never easy.
After considering the size of the first-year class and the total number of offers extended, we’ve determined that we are unable to make additional offers of admission. We will close the waiting list this evening. I know this is disappointing news to receive, and I am very sorry that I have to deliver it.
Please know that we respect and admire all you’ve accomplished, and we have great faith in your future. You have demonstrated that you are more than capable of thriving at UVA and contributing to the education and experience of your classmates.
If your heart is truly set on attending UVA, we’re here to help. Many waitlisted first-year students earn admission after one or two years elsewhere, provided they let us help them with planning. If you would like to talk to an admission counselor about transfer admission, we would welcome the chance to answer your questions.
We appreciate your interest in the University of Virginia
and wish you the best as you begin your college career.
Sincerely,
Greg W. Roberts
Associate Vice Provost of Enrollment and Admission
