CavDog (ahem, CavBee) made an appearance at the Halloween Festival on The Lawn on Wednesday. His sad eyes are for those of you who were working on ED and EA apps instead of enjoying Halloween.

What an awesome photograph.
The picture and caption brought back memories of this same time last year when my son was in the final stages of putting together his ED and EA applications. It was a somewhat stressful time, but one he and I will never forget.
Thankfully, my son was offered admission to UVa and is enjoying his first year on Grounds as an active member of the University community.
Thus far his experience at UVa has been everything he hoped it would be and more (the "Cardiac Cavs" adventures would be counted in the "more" category). It has been well worth everything it took to get in, plus all the effort it now requires to do well academically in a very challenging environment.
