The waiting list page on our website has some updates!
1. We made offers to some students on the waiting list. We made 19 offers to students on the waiting list for the School of Architecture last Friday, May 1. We made 260 offers to students on the waiting lists for the College of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering yesterday, May 5. Letters were in the MyUVA Applicant Portal.
2. Students getting waiting list offers have three days to accept or decline. If a student applied for financial aid, the decision period starts when their aid offer is posted. Please be sure UVA has your FAFSA and CSS Profile (you have the SIS portal to check this) so Student Financial Services can work without delay.
3. All updates you wish to share should be uploaded in your portal. Remember, the portal isn't smart enough to "read" the documents you submit and classify them. It simply files them. You will not see an uploaded item appear on your checklist.
4. The best source of information about UVA admission is UVA admission. I know it's exciting to hear news about the schools on your list, but please remember that we have always tried to keep our students and parents informed about our process via our website, this blog, and our social media channels. If you don't see the news coming from my office, take it with a grain of salt.
5. We won't know if there will be more offers until the first groups of newly-admitted students reply. While it's tempting to refresh the screen to see if students have accepted their offers, I know the three days decision period won't start until aid is offered, so this could take time.
Thank you for your continued interest in UVA! As always, I'll be going live on Thursday to answer questions via Instagram and I welcome your questions in the comments.
